Alterations

I've changed my whole idea for my Grad Film, so it seems. I knew, even before the Summer, that it would be set in either a forest or an ocean, something to do with water.

Something I do when I'm bored is look up deep sea creatures, or just strange creatures of ocean. There are so many unidentified species that videos are not terribly hard to find. This is what I will be fashioning my grad film after, capturing that alluring mystery beneath the surface in a painterly, whimsical way. So I got to doodling.

One of many Dumbo Octopus references

Using one of my favourite creatures, the Dumbo Octopus, I started out with a cartoon-like style. At this point I wasn't sure of a plot, so I wasn't sure if varied emotions were needed. I went on to a different style, more for a definition of overall mood, not necessarily technique.

 

What I ended up with is an interesting hybrid.
